Pear Talent is representing a Financial Services business who have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst in their FP&A team. This team provides critical business performance insight and financial planning support to the business Exec, directly influencing the company’s strategic decision making.
You’ll be expected to partner closely with key senior stakeholders across the business to support and drive business performance. The role is extremely varied in terms of its activities, reflecting the need to rapidly respond to market developments and business unit initiatives. You’ll be expected to be able to gain credibility with senior stakeholders and demonstrate first class project management and communication skills. Work is often ad-hoc and project based.
- Understand the business including the markets in which they operate, strategies, risks, products and key drivers of performance.
- Analyse financial performance, MI, forecasts and contribute to regular monthly reporting to the Board/Exec.
- Significant business partnering across the company, developing relationships and helping to facilitate regular dialogue between Finance and all areas of the business.
- Analyse investment proposals, acquisitions and corporate projects, on an ad-hoc basis.
The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA etc.) with previous experience in a FP&A or another analytical/commercial Finance role, ideally within Financial Services.
- Strong excel and financial data analysis skills (adv. SQL, Python etc).
- Experience of preparing financial information for senior management.
- Highly numerate and analytical with a commercial mindset.
- Able to undertake financial analysis/evaluation in order to interpret and understand the underlying performance of the business.
