Essential experience – FTSE100 Financial Services
Pear Talent is representing a FTSE100 Financial Services business who are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting to lead a team delivering all key financial and regulatory reporting, whilst working closely with the CFO/ExCo to improve financial insight and management in order to support decision making.
Key accountabilities
- Own and lead the delivery of all core statutory financial (IFRS) and regulatory reporting, providing high-quality financial analysis, commentary and disclosures.
- Significant day-to-day interaction with senior management and ExCo stakeholders internally, as well as managing the external audit relationship.
- Provide technical advice on accounting standards and internal accounting policies, as well as impact assessment of new standards.
- Manage a team of x10 on-shore and a further off-shore shared services function.
- Attend regular meetings with the CFO to discuss financial results.
- Actively challenge the status-quo of current processes and systems, exploring any potential improvements.
- Ensure the finance team is motivated and performing to the highest standard.
- Partner with all elements of the business on complex transactions and accounting issues.
- Continuous engagement with other functions such as the Treasury, Tax, Legal and M&A teams on specific projects or transactions.
Required experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience gained in Financial Services.
- Proven track record of managing significant external financial reporting processes under IFRS.
- Ability to quickly gain credibility at senior levels within the business and demonstrate both first class project management and communication skills.
- Able to work effectively across departments and experience of managing multi-location teams.
- Strong presentation skills and people skills, good influencer.
