Pear Talent is representing an established international Financial Services business who continue to deliver decent year-on-year results and are successfully expanding in the US. They are now looking for a Head of Financial Reporting, who\’ll report to the Group FC/CFO leading a team (x5) delivering all external financial and internal management reporting including financial performance insight. You’ll have a profile at an Exec/Board/Committee level, whilst also managing the external relationship with the auditors. You will also lead future finance change to support further planned M&A/acquisitions and these integrations.
Key accountabilities:
- You\’ll have regular interaction with Exec/Board/Committee both at Group and underlying businesses.
- Lead a team delivering the Group’s full and half year consolidated financial statements providing high-quality financial analysis, commentary and disclosures.
- Manage, mentor and develop a team x5, ensuring the team is motivated and performing to the highest standard.
- Actively challenge the status-quo of current processes and systems, exploring any potential improvements and ensuring that a robust control environment is in place.
- Own the relationship with the Group’s auditors, managing the whole process and handling any queries.
- Follow developments in external reporting and industry best practice, ensuring these are correctly interpreted and implemented.
- Continuous engagement with other functions such as the Treasury, Tax, Legal and M&A teams on specific projects, especially M&A and any related accounting issues.
Required experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience gained in Financial Services (Insurance adv.)
- Proven track record of leading financial reporting, especially group consolidation (IFRS)
- Candidates directly from Top10 Audit practice with large Financial Services client experience (incl. group consolidated statements) will also be considered.
- Ability to quickly gain credibility at senior levels within the business and demonstrate both first class project management and communication skills.
- Able to work effectively across departments.
- Strong presentation skills and people skills, good influencer.
