City of London - flexible hybrid WFH

Pear Talent is representing a FTSE100 Insurance group who have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Business Partner in their Group FP&A team. This role will support key business stakeholders on the development of robust financial plans and strategies.

The business has recently completed a major acquisition and as such there is a significant integration project underway involving key commercial and strategic alignments. You will lead critical business performance insight and financial planning support to the Exec, directly influencing the company’s strategic decision making and driving business performance.

You’ll be expected to be able to quickly gain credibility with senior stakeholders and own key business relationships, as well as demonstrate first-class project management and communication skills. Work is often ad-hoc and project-based.

Key accountabilities

  • Understand the business, including the markets in which they operate, their strategies, risks, products and key drivers of performance.
  • Lead the analysis of business financial performance, MI, forecasts and contribute to regular monthly reporting to the group Exec.
  • Develop excellent MI reporting and tracking of strategic objectives using agreed KPI's.
  • Provide financial and commercial decision support papers for review by ExCo and senior leadership, including the quarterly operating review pack providing business insight and challenge.
  • Budget, forecast and planning process to monitor and predict financial performance.
  • Manage and develop relationships with the business units, helping to facilitate regular dialogue between business unit management and the head office.
  • Developing team members, provide personal development opportunities and ensure appropriate training and development plans are in place.
  • Analyse investment proposals, acquisitions and corporate projects, on an ad-hoc basis.

Required experience

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant ACA, CIMA or ACCA with a strong academic record and previous experience in a similar Finance Business Partner or FP&A role within Insurance.
