MI Accountant in City of London

Location: London (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office)

We're working on an exciting opportunity for a well-established financial services business looking to strengthen its Finance team with a Financial Reporting Accountant.

This role offers a great blend of monthly management information, financial analysis and financial reporting, with a real emphasis on turning complex numbers into meaningful insights that support senior-level decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the production of monthly MI packs, providing insightful commentary on financial performance and the underlying business drivers.
• Analysing and validating financial data, identifying trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
• Working closely with Actuarial and Accounting teams to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
• Supporting year-end accounts, half-year reporting and the preparation of annual reports.
• Driving improvements to reporting processes, controls and the quality of financial outputs.
• Managing reporting timetables and coordinating deliverables across Finance and the wider business.

About you

• Qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or equivalent, typically qualified up to 3 years’ PQE.
• Experience in financial reporting, management information or financial analysis.
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage reporting deadlines.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and confidence learning new systems.
