We are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join a major design and build infrastructure project supporting the UK’s transition to renewable energy and Net Zero. The project includes significant earthworks, highways and junction works, reinforced concrete structures, and steel-framed buildings housing next-generation electrical equipment. Design and environmental works are underway, with construction starting next year and completion planned for 2027.
This is a senior role with responsibility for leading commercial activities and managing a team on a complex, high-value project.
Key Responsibilities- Support and implement commercial start-up procedures across the project
- Line manage and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors
- Procure materials and off-site services in line with company procurement procedures
- Prepare and manage work package scopes and documentation
- Lead tender processes, evaluations and award recommendations
- Work closely with the supply chain to drive cost, quality and performance improvements
- Maximise cash flow through timely valuations, invoicing and payments
- Manage variations, final accounts, claims and dispute resolution
- Develop and lead strategies for client commercial negotiations
- Review plant and equipment usage to ensure efficiency
- Produce accurate CVR reports, forecasts and financial updates
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities early
- Degree or formal qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Proven experience managing commercial activities on major infrastructure projects
- Strong NEC contract experience (essential)
- Chartered status or working towards chartership (desirable)
