Site Manager – Southend, £41-48k + Car Allowance We are recruiting two experienced Site Managers for a major infrastructure project in Southend, delivering a £11.5m scheme including bridge demolition, earthworks, drainage, roundabout construction, traffic signal installation, and junction remodelling. Location: Bulls Lodge Quarry, Chelmsford (within 1 hour of Southend town centre) Hours: 40 per week, mainly Monday to Friday (overtime for weekends) Team: 6 people Salary: £41-48k + £4,700 car allowance Key Responsibilities: * Oversee daily site operations across multiple live projects, ensuring work is safe, on time, and within budget. * Support project planning, programming, and delivery strategies. * Collaborate with commercial teams on cost estimates, forecasting, and subcontractor management. * Lead and coordinate all on-site activities with strict HSEQ compliance. * Contribute to ECI processes, including buildability reviews and risk assessments. * Engage with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain to maintain strong working relationships. * Monitor progress, manage subcontractors, and maintain accurate site records. Requirements: * Proven experience as a Site Manager on infrastructure, highways, or major civils projects. * Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, and civil engineering principles. * Experience supporting planning and working with commercial teams on cost management. * Ability to manage multiple sites in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills. * Relevant certifications: SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid. * HNC in Construction or Civil Engineering.
