A leading UK manufacturing business within the cold roll-forming and engineering sector is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team. This is a full-time permanent role offering long-term stability, training and progression within a modern manufacturing environment. The role is based on a Monday to Friday days shift (37 hours per week), with a starting salary of 36,000 rising to 38,000 following training, plus potential annual bonus and share scheme participation. This position would suit a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Technician with strong manufacturing experience and a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Mechanical fault diagnosis and repair
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding
  • Mechanical fitting, welding and fabrication
  • Support production by reducing downtime
  • Record maintenance activities accurately
  • Liaise with Production Managers and Team Leaders
  • Investigate breakdowns and complete repairs
  • Identify root causes of failures
  • Implement corrective and reliability improvements
