Peaple Talent have partnered with a fast-moving technology business in Bristol entering a key delivery phase, with go-live planned for the next few weeks. They need an experienced Linux Engineer to provide critical out-of-hours infrastructure support across global environments. Night shifts will be shared across the team, unless you prefer consistent nights, and out-of-hours work will be paid at a premium.

You’ll support Linux-based systems across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, keeping core infrastructure stable, secure and running smoothly. Expect ticket-based support, troubleshooting, maintenance and automation.

The role will cover:

  • Supporting Debian and RedHat-based Linux environments
  • Handling Layer 1 and 2 infrastructure support
  • Working across DNS, DHCP, VPN, LDAP, networking and virtualisation
  • Supporting patching, risk assessment and infrastructure best practice
  • Maintaining IaC using Terraform, Puppet or Ansible

We’re looking for someone with strong on-premise Linux administration experience, solid troubleshooting skills and confidence supporting business-critical systems. Specific tech stack is Linux, Debian, Kubernetes, Ansible. Monitoring, containerisation, web servers, load balancers or Python would be useful, but the priority is someone dependable, technically strong and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
