A leading industrial business is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join its senior leadership team. This is a high-impact role responsible for leading HSEQ strategy, driving compliance, maintaining management systems, and embedding a positive safety culture across a complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company's HSEQ strategy across all operational activities
  • Drive a proactive culture of safety, quality and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, permits and industry standards
  • Provide HSEQ guidance to managers, employees and senior stakeholders
  • Promote behavioural safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor operational activities to ensure safe working practices
  • Identify risks and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses
  • Develop initiatives to improve operational performance and reduce risk
  • Maintain and continuously improve ISO-certified management systems
  • Lead internal and external audits
  • Review and develop HSEQ policies, procedures and documentation
  • Manage certifications, accreditations and compliance schemes
  • Lead the company's training and competency strategy
  • Develop and maintain training matrices and competency frameworks
  • Coordinate internal and external training programmes
  • Support managers and employees with HSEQ responsibilities
  • Act as the key contact for regulators, auditors and compliance bodies
  • Support customer compliance requirements and tender submissions
  • Produce HSEQ performance reports for senior leadership

About You

  • NVQ Level 4 (or higher) in Occupational Health & Safety Practice or equivalent
  • Proven experience leading Health, Safety and Environmental functions
  • Experience managing ISO-certified management systems
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, auditing and risk management
  • Previous leadership or people management experience
  • Experience delivering investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification (desirable)
