An established and growing engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Panel Wirer / Electrical Fitter to join its production team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for quality and innovation, working on the build and assembly of specialist electrical equipment for customers across a range of industries.
The successful candidate will be involved in the assembly, fitting and wiring of electrical systems from technical drawings and schematics, ensuring products are built to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and wire electrical control panels and associated equipment from scratch
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, layout drawings and wiring diagrams
- Carry out cable preparation, crimping, looming and termination work
- Gland and terminate SWA cables
- Install and route cable tray systems and associated wiring
- Complete electrical and mechanical assembly activities as required
- Carry out soldering and component assembly work
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Complete production documentation and work order paperwork
- Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to meet delivery targets
- Previous experience as a Panel Wirer, Electrical Fitter, Electrical Assembler or similar role
- Hands-on experience wiring control panels from electrical drawings
- Experience with cable termination, crimping and soldering
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Electrical qualifications or relevant engineering training
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to support wider production activities when required
