I’m currently partnering with a well‑established UK Financial Services provider that supports hundreds of thousands of customers with accessible credit products and has an excellent reputation in the market. They’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their database team and take ownership of production‑critical systems across AWS.
The Role
You’ll design, modernise and optimise scalable database solutions, with a focus on:
- AWS RDS (SQL Server & Aurora PostgreSQL)
- Building and operating data pipelines (incl. Snowflake integration)
- Leading SQL Server migrations to AWS
- Performance tuning, monitoring & optimisation
You’ll work closely with cloud, engineering and application teams, playing a key role in shaping database standards and architecture across the business.
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in relational database design & support
- Strong T‑SQL and query optimisation expertise
- Hands‑on AWS data services experience (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3 etc.)
- Experience with modern ETL, replication & cloud migrations
- Python or similar scripting skills
- Bonus points for previous experience in Financial Services
