Ready to step up from 2nd line support into an operational leadership role where you will bring structure to a fast-growing analytics scale-up? This is a chance to shape a new operations function at a Bristol-based innovator within media analytics, working with household-name clients across 20 countries. Our partner, an award-winning analytics company, is expanding rapidly and needs a hands-on operations lead to own the monthly data release cycle -- ensuring pipelines run cleanly, data quality stays high, and clients get accurate insights on time, every time.
In this role, you will:
- Own and improve the monthly release run book, monitoring ETL pipelines and automated tests to keep delivery on track.
- Make light technical fixes (patching Python/SQL scripts) when issues arise but know when to escape complex changes to Engineering.
- Answer support queries from Analytics and client-facing teams about the data.
- Drive continuous improvement: automate manual tasks, refine documentation, simplify processes, all while keeping the release schedule as priority one.
What we are looking for:
- 2nd line support, data operations or release engineering background: you thrive on operational discipline, not greenfield development.
- Python and SQL at maintenance level (fixing/patching existing code rather than building from scratch).
- Strong data quality or testing mindset (validation, constraints, QA processes).
- Clear communicator with non-technical stakeholders; pragmatic decision-maker who balances 'better tech' with 'business needs now'.
- Ability to lead/oversee a more junior member of staff.
