Permanent | Hybrid – Lancashire | up to £70,000 + car allowance.

If you’re a HSE leader who wants a seat at the table, owning not just policies but guiding and influencing business strategy – this role could be for you.

We’re looking for a Head of HSE to work alongside directly the Directors of a growing Renewables, Grid and Energy business. You’ll be leading a business-wide Health, Safety & Environmental strategy across a growing utilities and infrastructure operation.

The Role

This is a visible, senior role. You’ll act as the principal HSE advisor to the Board, embed a proactive safety culture, and ensure the organisation operates safely, compliantly and sustainably.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Setting and continuously improving the HSE & Occupational Health strategy
  • Leading ISO management systems and audit processes
  • Acting as HSE lead for CDM, NERS and Electrical Safety compliance
  • Embedding practical, proportionate risk management (CPPs, RAMS, operational assurance)
  • Overseeing contractor and supply chain HSE governance
  • Driving performance through meaningful KPIs and data-led insight
  • Supporting ESG and environmental improvement initiatives (carbon, waste, energy)

About You

  • Senior-level HSE leadership experience
  • Background within utilities, electrical or infrastructure environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, CDM, NERS and Electrical Safety Rules
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Professional membership (e.g. IOSH)
