Pealby Living is looking for an experienced and ambitious Registered Service Manager/Nominated Individual to lead our newly Ofsted registered Supported Accommodation service for young people aged 16-18 in Swindon.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident manager, a children social worker or a deputy looking to step up and take on a new challenge and who can hit the ground running, take ownership and build on an already established relationship with the Local Authority.
As this is a dual Registered Manager/Nominated Individual role, you will have responsibility for both the day-to-day management of the service and its wider regulatory, compliance, quality and governance arrangements.
The Role
You will take the lead in ensuring the service is safe, compliant, well-led and focused on achieving positive outcomes for young people.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the day-to-day operation and development of the service.
- Ensure compliance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and relevant Quality Standards.
- Maintain and strengthen our existing relationship with the Local Authority, commissioners and professional partners.
- Lead safeguarding, risk management, incidents and complaints.
- Lead, supervise and develop the existing staff team.
- Ensure young people's support plans, risk assessments and records are accurate, effective and outcome-focused.
- Lead quality assurance, audits and continuous improvement.
- Maintain the service in an inspection-ready position.
- Act as a key point of contact for Ofsted and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Provide effective governance, reporting and oversight to senior leadership.
- Promote a positive, trauma-informed and young-person-centred culture.
About You
You will be someone who can identify priorities, make sound decisions, lead a team effectively and drive high standards without needing constant direction.
You will ideally have:
- Management experience in Supported Accommodation, Residential Childcare, Leaving Care, Housing Support or a similar setting.
- Experience working with young people aged 16-18.
- A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care (Children and Young People), or an Ofsted-accepted equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Ofsted expectations.
- Experience working with Local Authorities and external professionals.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
- Enhanced DBS clearance and willingness to complete the required checks.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
