We are supporting a leading investment banking and advisory platform in London with the expansion of its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) M&A team. The group is actively growing its coverage across Europe, advising a range of financial institutions including banks, insurers, asset managers, fintech and specialty finance clients on strategic M&A and capital markets transactions. This is a high-exposure role within a deal-focused team, working closely with senior bankers on both domestic and cross-border transactions.
Tasks:
- Lead and support execution of FIG M&A transactions, including sell-side and buy-side advisory mandates
- Prepare and review complex financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials
- Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with legal, accounting, and commercial advisors
- Contribute to origination efforts through sector analysis, pitch materials, and client engagement
- Support senior bankers in developing strategic ideas for financial institutions clients
- Manage and mentor Analysts and Junior Associates where applicable (VP level)
- Engage directly with clients, including CFOs, CEOs, and corporate development teams
- Monitor FIG sector trends across banking, insurance, asset management, fintech, and specialty finance
