We are a housing provider in Macclesfield with over 5,000 properties across East Cheshire and the surrounding areas. We are ambitious with plans to build more homes, regenerate local areas and invest in our properties. We provide housing to those in housing need and aim to be a great landlord for our customers.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Section 20 Officer to join our team and play a key role in managing and administering the Section 20 consultation process for leasehold major works and qualifying long-term agreements.
The key responsibilities of the role will be to:
- Oversee the Section 20 consultation process, ensuring all statutory requirements and legal timescales are met.
- Prepare and issue consultation notices, updates and correspondence to leaseholders, providing clear and accurate information about proposed works, costs, timescales and potential charges.
- Act as an important point of contact for leaseholders throughout the consultation and works process, responding to enquiries and concerns and coordinating observations and nominations.
- Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to support the effective delivery of major works programmes, ensuring accurate records are maintained and that consultations, approvals and decisions are properly documented.
- Monitor costs and support the recovery of eligible charges from leaseholders, as well as support the management of sinking funds and ensure contributions and major works expenditure are accurately recorded and communicated.
- Identify and manage risks associated with Section 20 requirements, helping to prevent delays, disputes and potential legal challenges.
This is an important role in ensuring the Trust meets its statutory obligations when carrying out leasehold major works and qualifying long-term agreements, whilst providing a transparent, accountable and customer-focused service.
