We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and collecting produce safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. This job can be seasonal in nature; when there are no deliveries or collections, you will work as part of the logistics team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Understand and adhere to all lorry driving rules and regulations (Tachographs, size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it appropriately for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols while on the road and at delivery sites.
- Help maintain company standards and provide feedback on any maintenance issues or problems that may occur.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the truck.
- Prepare loads for dispatch for on-time deliveries.
- Work with the logistics team when there are no collections/deliveries.
- Some manual handling will be required for this role.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a positive, can-do attitude, that is flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
- Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is available to work weekends and early mornings when needed.

- You will hold a valid driver’s Class 2 license and have an up-to-date CPC.
- You will have a minimum of 12 months UK driving experience.
- You will be able to pass Department of Transport physical, drug test and background checks.
- You will hold a clean UK driving License.
- You will be over 25 years old (for insurance reasons).
- A Forklift Truck License would be an advantage.
Fruit growing is 7 days a week and is seasonal in nature, so the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly around the needs of the business. We are a family-run multicultural workplace, with a family atmosphere and staff from many different backgrounds. The successful candidate must enjoy working with such a workforce and be used to managing people with varying levels of English language.
