The Women’s Ride Leader & Planner plays a key role in encouraging and supporting female participation within the club. This role focuses on integrating and supporting women within the club’s existing rides and activities, fostering an inclusive environment where female cyclists feel confident, welcomed, and supported. The aim is to build confidence, promote inclusivity, and ensure women are actively involved in all aspects of cycling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ride Support & Integration: Encourage and support female participation in all club rides and events, ensuring they feel welcome and included. Assist in planning routes and activities that accommodate varying skill levels and create a positive experience for all. Ride alongside and provide guidance to members during club rides, offering support and encouragement where needed.
- Community Building & Engagement: Create a welcoming atmosphere within the club that encourages more women to join and participate in rides and events. Foster connections among female members, promoting a strong sense of community and camaraderie within the club. Organise occasional social meet-ups or informal gatherings to strengthen relationships and encourage ongoing participation.
- Mentorship & Development: Provide mentorship and support to new or less experienced female cyclists, helping them build confidence and develop their skills. Identify and encourage potential female leaders within the club, supporting their growth and involvement in leadership roles.
- Diversity & Inclusion Advocacy: Collaborate with the Growth & Diversity Officer to ensure the club’s activities and culture are welcoming and inclusive to women of all backgrounds. Provide feedback to the committee on ways to enhance female engagement and ensure gender inclusivity within the club.
- Committee Involvement: Attend monthly committee meetings to provide updates on initiatives related to women’s participation and integration. Collaborate with other club officers on events, charity rides, and community initiatives that support inclusivity and growth.
