Join Our Peak School Family

At Peak School, we believe every child deserves the very best opportunities to thrive, achieve and be happy. Our motto, “Unique People, Individualised Approach” and our values of being kind, being a team, listening to each other and trying our best are at the heart of school life.
We are a warm, welcoming and ambitious special school with 91 incredible pupils with a diverse range of needs. We are looking for an Intervention Assistant to join our dedicated team and help our pupils learn, communicate, develop their independence and enjoy school.

The Role

As an Intervention Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other staff to provide individualised support for our pupils.

You will play an important role in teaching and learning, supporting pupils to develop their literacy, numeracy, communication and wider curriculum skills. You will help pupils engage in appropriately adapted learning, practise and consolidate new skills, and make progress towards their individual learning outcomes.
Alongside this, you will support pupils to develop their independence and manage their social, emotional, sensory and physical needs. The role can also include personal care and supporting pupils during community learning, educational visits and activities across school.
Most importantly, you will build positive relationships with our pupils, encourage them to try, recognise their progress and celebrate their achievements.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is kind, patient, positive and reliable, who enjoys helping young people to learn and has high expectations for what our pupils can achieve.
You will enjoy working as part of a team, be able to remain calm when situations are challenging and be willing to learn and develop your skills.
Previous SEND experience is desirable, but not essential. What matters most is your commitment to our pupils, your values and your willingness to learn.

Why Join Peak School

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team who genuinely care about our pupils and one another. In July 2025, Ofsted judged Peak School to be Good in all areas, and we are proud of the positive school community we have built together.
We will provide the training and support you need to develop in the role, alongside the wider benefits and opportunities available through Esteem Multi-Academy Trust.

Benefits Include:

  • - Local Government Pension Scheme
  • - Access to Westfield Health membership scheme including cashback schemes for health and retail benefits, discounted gym memberships, and free confidential advice.
  • - Free Parking
  • - Access to a highly supportive trust network
  • - Access to My Money Matters Financial Wellbeing Platform
  • - Access to National College CPD platform.

You will meet a team who genuinely care for one another, celebrate success together and are united by a shared determination to provide the very best for our pupils.
