Our client is a leading global producer within the process and food industry.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer position at our clients production site on the outskirts of Glasgow will play a vital role in enhancing quality, safety, and productivity through innovative mechanical equipment creation. Key responsibilities include evaluating existing systems, providing production support, and overseeing capital projects.

The role is hands-on, with an equal focus on design, prototyping, and project management tasks such as installation, supplier management, and commissioning. Additionally, the role will offer guidance in mechanical engineering and design to colleagues within the department and the company.

Qualifications:

  • Degree level in Mechanical Engineering, with over 5 years of experience.
  • Chartered Engineering status would be advantageous.
  • Experienced with revision control and preservation of CAD files is essential.
  • Good all round project management skills, and be able to ensure completion of multiple concurrent projects within the stated boundaries of cost, time and quality
  • Solid working knowledge of machinery design codes and safety standards.
  • Practical knowledge of 3D modelling.
