Our client is a major global player in the food manufacturing industry, operating across multiple international markets.
Reporting to the Head of Science & Technology, this newly created Application Scientist role focuses on generating scientific insights into the performance of food products in customer applications to drive product innovation and solve customer challenges. Working closely with Material Scientists and Process Engineers, you'll support innovation projects from laboratory and pilot plant testing through to customer implementation, while helping to develop new products, technologies, and intellectual property.
The role involves some travel and would suit someone with a strong scientific background in Food Science, Chemical Science, or a related discipline, ideally with exposure to the meat industry.
Candidates should be naturally curious, resilient, comfortable working in laboratory and pilot plant environments, and confident engaging with customers, and proposing new ideas.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in R&D, product development, technical applications or science from a food or chemical related industry.
- Hands-on laboratory and pilot plant experience.
- Strong scientific mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- Food industry or meat manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
