Our client, a well-established primary school in Tower Hamlets, is seeking a dedicated and experienced EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate professional who is passionate about helping young children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to thrive during their early learning journey. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEND team to provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of each child within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Your work will help create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised 1:1 and small group support for children with SEND
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Support children's academic, social, emotional, and communication development
  • Help implement strategies that encourage independence and positive engagement
  • Contribute to planning and delivering enrichment and play-based learning activities
  • Accompany pupils on educational visits where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure consistent care and progress

Requirements

  • Experience working within EYFS and supporting children with SEND
  • A strong understanding of a range of additional needs, such as autism, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment
