A forward-thinking and innovative SEN school for pupils with Special Education Needs including Autism and associated learning difficulties is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join them from September.
This SEN School serves as a hub for SEN pupils finding it hard to cope in a mainstream environment and plays a significant role in providing outreach support for children and their families. The staff and Senior Leaders continuously work to improve their engagement with pupils, parents, carers, the local community, and schools. The school aims to be a Centre of Excellence. The staff collaborate in a multi-disciplinary manner to meet the needs of each child or young person.
The Senior Leaders are seeking:
- Experienced Teaching Assistants who have worked with students with Autism/SEN/Learning Difficulties
- Excellent communication skills, innovative and a creative practitioner
- Experience of special educational needs
- Flexibility and reliability
- High levels of motivation, imagination and enthusiasm to promote strong and effective teamwork
- Knowledge of PECS/MAKATON highly desirable
You will work as part of a professional staff team to support within the classrooms supported by a positive leadership team.
To be successful, you will need:
- English and Maths qualification at GCSE grade C (equivalent) or above
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to undergo a new check)
- A willingness to grow, develop and embrace challenges
- The right to work in the UK
