We are looking for an enthusiastic Evidence, Policy and Engagement Officer to support the development and delivery of the Landscape Observatory – an innovative programme using AI mapping, habitat monitoring and evidence‑led approaches to protect England's landscapes from the impacts of climate change. You will have experience researching, analysing and communicating environmental information, with the ability to present complex evidence in a clear and engaging way. You will be an excellent communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills, capable of building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A collaborative approach, attention to detail and a passion for supporting evidence‑based conservation and climate resilience are essential.
The Landscape Observatory is a pioneering project from the Protected Landscapes Partnership, combining high‑resolution aerial imagery, AI and machine learning to create detailed land cover maps across England's Protected Landscapes. By providing a consistent, high‑quality evidence base, the project will support habitat restoration, species recovery and climate resilience while encouraging innovation and collaboration across National Parks, National Landscapes and National Trails.
