Litigation Business Support Role
Role Purpose
You will play a key role in supporting the Litigation Fee Earning team and the wider business. You’ll help ensure cases progress smoothly by preparing core documents, managing files, liaising with clients and providers, and supporting the team with day‑to‑day operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities
File Opening & Case Preparation
· Set up and open new files, ensuring they are fully prepared for drafting.
· Liaise with clients to collect, extract and organise files in a user‑friendly, chronological format.
· Book in files, ensuring all party details, references, addresses and key information are captured accurately.
· Identify and obtain missing opponent details and update the file accordingly.
· Contact opponents to agree e‑service where possible.
· Request WIP/disbursement ledgers from clients.
· Create and structure folders on Peak’s central drive.
· Prepare e‑files for drafting, ensuring they are complete, tidy and logically ordered.
· Scan and save incoming post to the correct files and cc Fee Earners as needed.
Case progression & Follow Up
· Liaise with internal teams, clients and opponents to ensure smooth case progression.
· Chase courts for Notices of Issue, sealed documents and turnaround times for orders.
Business Support & Operations
· Act as first point of contact when the main phone line rings.
· Manage physical file organisation, including collection, delivery, storage and returns.
· Print and post documents (e.g., Part 36 offer letters) when email service is not available.
· Handle stationery orders and general business support duties.
Wider Team Support
· Assist Fee Earners during quieter times, helping to reduce the administrative burden in the team
· Proactively offer support to the Head of Litigation and Team Leaders when capacity allows, including routine or lower complexity tasks (e.g. chasers & small admin tasks).
· Support business development and marketing activities (e.g. attending events where needed).
· Assist leadership with preparing reports, training materials or content for LinkedIn/website.
