About the Role
As a Metals Sorter, you’ll play a pivotal role in XRF testing and segregating Nickel and Cobalt based materials that power some of the most advanced industries in the world. You will also be required to have the ability to partake in processing materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Metal Segregation: Analyse materials using handheld testing tools (e.g., Niton/Vanta XRF) and report any discrepancies to the Works Manager.
- Quality Control: Highlighting any non-conforming attachments or inserts that require further processing.
- Metals Analysis: Check against customer specifications to ensure material is within chemical specification.
- Written reports: Complete segregation reports that accurately describe the material tested and the findings.
- Material management: Remove items from stock locations and assign new locations once complete.
- Workplace Excellence: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who thrive in a team setting and have experience in at least three of the following areas:
- Material analysis (e.g., Niton and Vanta XRF).
- Knowledge of the Nickel based and Cobalt based Superalloys from IGT and Aerospace industries.
- Understanding of periodic elements and the ability to differentiate between alloys using this knowledge.
- Working to a deadline in a safe manner.
While mastery of every skill is not required, previous experience in XRF testing of superalloys and a proactive attitude are essential.
Working Hours
Our standard working hours are as follows:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00 am–4:00 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am–3:00 pm
