You will be based at our modern purpose built Head Office in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is an accessible city with strong transport links, and London is only 2 hours away by train.

The role
This role is instrumental in the both product development and company strategy. As a Buyer your role will be to source, develop, buy and deliver a specific range of products at the right cost, right time and the right place, ensuring company profit and cost budgets are met.
Responsibilities / Objectives
- Creating and executing the buying strategy, ensuring trends and fashion are translated appropriately creating product lines that are relevant to our brand and customer
- Take ownership of the critical path and deadlines are met with any issues being raised and action plans communicated and implemented.
- Review and analyses sales data, identifying top performing product/lines, ensuring data driven decisions are made for future lines/intakes and recommendations for improvement made and presented.
- Source, select and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum product, prices and terms of contract. Utilizing supplier’s expertise to improve range and knowledge
- Lead meetings at Director/Head of level ensuring effecting key information is communicated and any actions are completed within the set timescales.
- Collaborating with other departments within the company to ensure the successful launch of new product lines/seasonal collections and other company initiatives.
- Working with the merchandising team to optimise stock levels within budget guidelines
- Provide effective guidance and training to junior team members.
Skills and Experience
- Experience within a Fashion retail Buying role with a commercial mindset.
- In-depth understanding of current Fashion trends and market knowledge
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers
- Numerate with strong analytical skills
- Organised and detailed orientated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, project and deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills ensuring solid relationships within internal and external teams are developed and maintained.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages along with experience with buying systems
