We produce and distribute premier filmed entertainment and programming through Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and Universal Studio Group, and have world-renowned theme parks and attractions through Universal Destinations & Experiences. NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation.

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (‘SpinCo’) comprised of most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our data engineering team on a 1-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to automate and optimize data and reporting processes, while supporting our AI initiatives and modernizing our toolset.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Engagement:
    1. Build integrations to automate channel ratings and streaming data.
    2. Support departments in automating data and reporting.
    3. Clean and transform data for reporting and AI initiatives.
    4. Build reporting/solution ready datasets.
    5. Generate innovative ideas for automation, modernizing toolsets, and supporting artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.
  2. Agile Participation: Contribute to and partake in standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  3. Stakeholder Interaction: Engage with stakeholders across all departments, including marketing, finance, legal, product, commercial, and operations.

Technological Proficiency

  1. SQL (Snowflake data warehouse) and Python experience
  2. Git
  3. Tableau
  4. Amazon Web Services (S3, Lambda, Glue, API Gateway, Kinesis, IAM)
  5. Integrations (Email, SFTP, API, Webhooks, Streaming)
  6. Data Formats and Structures (XML, Excel, CSV, TSV, JSON, AVRO, Parquet)
