Peacock Sourcing Limited are currently recruiting for Senior Handyman to work for their well-established client based in Southwest London. As a Senior Handyman you will represent our client’s company acting as a key figure in the business, you will be expected to manage other Handyman, ensure work set by the business owner is completed to an impeccable standard whilst also being responsible for providing job quotations and estimates to new and returning clientele based in the local area. This role offers significant opportunities for commission after you have completed 1 month’s work of work, commission will be discussed with the business owner and is based of the value of jobs completed. The ideal candidate should: * 5 years minimum previous experience as a Handyman using hand tools working on commercial or domestic property doing painting and decorating, repair, woodworking, DIY and or plastering. (If you have done any simple electrical work this is advantageous) * Have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and a positive attitude. * Be able to speak and write in good English. * Knowledge of how to source materials for a job. * Have the ability to provide quotes and estimates for jobs. * Be punctual, arrive to work on time and be both reliable and honest. * The ability to competently manage other men. * Be currently registered as self-employed or at least be willing to become so. * Present themselves well and act in a professional manner. * The candidate should currently live in London and be able to start ASAP. Working Hours Mon – Fri (Minimum of 25 hours per week, hours will increase as needed) Pay £18 – 22 per hour + Commission (Pay starts lower for first few weeks, once you’ve shown the quality of your work pay will jump up) Commission (Eligible for commission after 1 month of work, commission is calculated as a percentage of the jobs value) Duties As a Senior Handyman you will be responsible for quoting and giving estimates on jobs, supervising other Handyman carry out and performing some jobs yourself such as property maintenance work (plumbing, simple electrical, painting and decorating, repairing furniture, doors, etc) As our client also provides Handyman services to surrounding businesses and homes, the successful candidate will be required to be involved in this side of the business as well. (The client will cover any travel expenses) Further information This contract has an indefinite duration as the business is currently seeking long term staff to stick with them as they grow and expand over the coming months.
