We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CIOT-qualified tax professional with strong post-qualified experience who is looking to take on a senior, client-facing role with genuine scope for progression.

You will manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients, provide high-level tax advice and play an important role in developing the firm's tax offering and client base.

The role offers a strong combination of technical responsibility, client exposure, leadership and commercial opportunity , including a 20% commission for the introduction of new clients .

Key Responsibilities Tax & Advisory Manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients.

Lead complex tax advisory assignments and provide commercially focused advice.

Advise clients on areas including corporate restructuring, acquisitions and disposals, succession planning, shareholder and remuneration planning, CGT, IHT and property taxation.

Provide advice on employee share schemes, SEIS and EIS.

Review and sign off complex tax computations and returns.

Keep up to date with changes to UK tax legislation and communicate relevant developments to clients and colleagues.

Client Management Act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of key clients.

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with business owners and decision-makers.

Lead client meetings and provide clear, practical tax advice.

Identify tax planning opportunities and support clients with strategic business decisions.

Business Development Identify opportunities to introduce and cross-sell the firm's services.

Develop new business opportunities and referral networks.

Prepare proposals and assist with winning new clients.

Represent the firm at networking events, seminars and client functions.

Contribute to technical articles, presentations and other client-facing content.

Team Leadership Manage, mentor and support the development of tax team members.

Review work completed by Managers, Seniors and Trainees.

Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

Deliver technical training across the firm.

Assist with departmental planning and workflow management.

Strategic Contribution & AML Work closely with Partners to develop and grow the firm's tax offering.

Contribute to wider strategic objectives and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

Act as Assistant Money Laundering Reporting Officer, supporting the MLRO with AML controls, transaction alert investigations, SARs and wider AML compliance.

About You The successful candidate will ideally have: CIOT membership/qualification – essential.

At least 5 years' post-qualified experience within an accountancy practice .

Strong corporate and personal tax experience.

Previous experience in a senior, client-facing position.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly and without unnecessary jargon.

A commercially minded approach and interest in business development.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

A positive, proactive "can-do" attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
