Are you passionate about historic buildings, conservation and working on projects that genuinely have character? This is an opportunity to join a growing team where no two projects look the same, and where there is real flexibility around the level and background of the person coming in.

Peace Recruitment is working alongside an established multidisciplinary consultancy looking to strengthen its team in Perth. The business is open minded on the profile they bring in and would consider candidates from a Building Surveying, Architecture or Architectural Technology background. What matters more than job title is experience, attitude and an interest in working within the heritage and conservation sector.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with existing buildings and wants to be involved in projects where understanding the history and character of a building is just as important as understanding how to deliver it. Equally, it could suit someone currently operating in a more commercial environment who has always wanted to move into conservation work and is looking for the right opportunity to make that transition.

The team is in a growth phase following recent investment into leadership and structure, making this an exciting time to join. You would be working closely with an experienced team on a wide range of projects and would have the opportunity to take ownership of work while continuing to develop your skills and experience.

The company is flexible around level and would consider someone earlier in their career who is working towards chartership, as well as more experienced individuals who can bring additional technical knowledge and leadership capability. Support towards professional development and chartership is available where needed.

The role itself will involve a varied workload and could include:

  • Surveying and inspection work
  • Preparing technical information
  • Liaising with clients and consultants
  • Supporting project delivery
  • Helping to manage work through various stages

Depending on your background, the role can evolve around your strengths and experience. The office is based in Perth and the business operates a hybrid working arrangement, typically with around three days spent in the office alongside flexibility around the remainder of the week. Salary is expected to be circa £40,000 + depending on experience, although there is flexibility for the right person.

If you enjoy the idea of working on buildings with history, character and stories behind them, and want to be part of a growing team with genuine opportunity ahead, I would be happy to have a confidential chat.
