A leading UK commercial property consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior or Associate level Lease Consultancy Surveyor to join its expanding team in Glasgow. This is a key hire within a growing advisory function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of high-quality lease consultancy instructions and play a central role in developing the firm’s presence in the Scottish market.

The Role

You will provide expert advice to both landlords and occupiers across a range of commercial assets, including office, retail, and industrial property. The focus will be on rent reviews, lease renewals, lease re-gears, and wider lease restructuring work. You will lead negotiations, manage client relationships, and contribute to dispute resolution processes where required, including arbitration and expert determination. The role also offers the opportunity to support business development and help shape the future growth of the Glasgow team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing rent reviews and lease renewals from instruction through to settlement
  • Advising on and negotiating lease re-gears and restructuring strategies
  • Preparing market evidence and valuation-based negotiation arguments
  • Acting for both landlords and occupiers on complex lease advisory matters
  • Supporting dispute resolution processes where necessary
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contributing to business development and team growth
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors (Senior/Associate level dependent)

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong background in commercial lease consultancy or valuation advisory
  • Proven experience in rent reviews and lease renewals
  • Solid understanding of UK commercial property markets and lease structures
  • Experience acting for landlords, occupiers, or within a consultancy environment
  • MRICS qualified (or equivalent experience for Associate consideration)
