Job Description

Temporary Quantity Surveyor – Public Sector (Housing Repairs) – Near Glasgow

Rate: £30–£35 per hour (depending on experience and pay type)

Duration: Minimum 6 months

Location: Near Glasgow (travel required – must have driving licence and access to a vehicle)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a respected public sector organisation based near Glasgow on a temporary contract. This role will focus primarily on housing repairs and maintenance contracts, supporting the delivery of cost-effective and compliant services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor housing repair and maintenance contracts
  • Conduct valuations, cost analysis, and financial reporting
  • Support procurement and contract administration in line with public sector standards
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure value for money
  • Provide accurate cost forecasts and identify commercial risks

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within housing, maintenance, or public sector environments
  • Strong understanding of Schedule of Rates and contract management
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (site visits required)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Please note: This role is inside IR35.
