Job Description
An established and evolving architecture studio in Glasgow city centre is looking to appoint a Project Architect with around five years post Part 3 experience to join their growing team. Following a period of internal restructuring, the studio is now operating with a strategically clear team structure and focus, creating a genuine opportunity for someone who wants to step into a visible and meaningful role within the office.
They are particularly keen to speak with architects who have proven experience running medium to large scale projects and who are confident taking responsibility from post planning stages through to delivery. This is not a support only position; they are looking for someone capable of leading packages, coordinating consultants, managing client communication and maintaining programme momentum. Strong Revit capability is essential, as the studio operates within a BIM led environment and technical clarity is increasingly critical in the current construction climate.
The immediate project in mind is a significant Glasgow city centre residential and mixed use scheme of approximately 250β300 units, incorporating a tall building and commercial office elements. The development utilises a volumetric construction system, so experience working alongside modern methods of construction, off site coordination, or technically demanding delivery frameworks would be advantageous. They are well established at front end concept stages and are now looking to strengthen their delivery capability within the team.
This role would suit an architect who is commercially aware and understands the realities of project delivery. They value individuals who recognise that experience counts β someone who has been through planning processes, technical coordination challenges and live site scenarios, and who can apply that knowledge pragmatically. They are not looking for ego; they are looking for capability, sound judgement and a steady pair of hands.
The Glasgow studio sits within a wider UK practice, offering the stability and resource of a larger organisation while retaining the personality and autonomy of a local team. Recent changes in leadership have brought fresh direction and a focus on winning more work locally, meaning there is strong potential for progression for someone who proves themselves. The right candidate will not be lost in a crowd; they will be part of a team that is actively shaping its next phase.
Salary is expected to fall within the region of Β£39,000-Β£43,000 depending on experience, with scope to recognise individuals who bring demonstrable project running strength at scale. They are conscious of internal parity and value fairness and transparency in their approach to remuneration.
This is an opportunity to join a studio at an inflection point β stable, ambitious and delivering meaningful city centre projects. For an architect who wants responsibility, technical challenge and the chance to help shape a growing team, this represents a strong next step.
