A respected construction contractor based in Glasgow is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator / Estimator to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career with a well-established main contractor delivering a wide range of projects across sectors including commercial, residential, and refurbishment.
The Role:
Working as part of the pre-construction team, you’ll support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for new build, refurbishment, and fit-out projects. This position offers exposure to all stages of the estimating process and the chance to learn directly from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of tender and cost estimates
- Taking off quantities and producing accurate bills of quantities
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers for quotations
- Supporting value engineering and cost analysis exercises
- Working closely with project and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery
About You:
- Ideally degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
- Previous estimating experience within a construction environment (junior or intermediate level)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail
- Excellent communication and IT skills (including Excel and estimating software)
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
