Our client, a well-established construction contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Inverness. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to play a key role in delivering a range of high-quality commercial construction projects across the Highlands.
Working closely with the commercial and project teams, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the financial and contractual management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple commercial construction projects
- Preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
- Managing procurement processes including subcontractor packages and negotiations
- Monitoring project costs, variations, and financial performance
- Producing valuations, interim applications, and final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Providing commercial support and advice to project delivery teams
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong background delivering commercial construction projects
- Solid knowledge of standard construction contracts such as JCT or NEC
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartership is desirable
