An established and creative architecture practice based in Edinburgh is looking to add a Finance Assistant to its growing team. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative SME environment where finance plays a key role in supporting project delivery and business operations.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team to ensure smooth financial operations across the business. The firm offers a supportive culture, hybrid working, and exposure to a dynamic professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing purchase and sales ledger processes, including invoice processing and maintaining accurate records
- Processing purchase invoices and managing supplier payments
- Raising and issuing client invoices
- Assisting with credit control and monitoring outstanding balances
- Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting month-end processes
- Assisting with basic financial forecasting and reporting support
- Processing employee expenses and staff reimbursements
- Maintaining and updating financial data within accounting systems
- Providing administrative support to the wider finance team as required
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant role
- Experience with purchase and sales ledger processes
- Experience using Xero is desirable
- Ideally experience within construction, engineering, architecture, or professional services environments
- Experience working within an SME business would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-finance colleagues
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Salary between £28,000 – £32,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working (2 days from home)
