We are currently working with a well-established main contractor to recruit an experienced Site Engineer for projects based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy project team delivering high-quality construction works in a safe, organised, and professional manner.
Purpose of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of site activities, supervising all trades and ensuring a consistently high standard of workmanship. You will manage site employees, keep all site documentation up to date, and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and quality procedures in line with the Quality Assurance Plan.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all SHE principles on site
- Organise and manage all site labour, including subcontractors
- Ensure high standards of quality control across all works
- Maintain and update records using Asite and BIM 360
- Ensure efficient use of plant and machinery
- Carry out setting out duties
- Maintain and update all health & safety documentation and site records
- Keep site records, registers, and filing systems fully up to date
- Check and manage timesheets and allocation sheets
- Ensure the site is tidy, safe, and well organised at all times
- Maintain safety, scaffold, and plant registers
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the company’s Procedure Manual
Reporting To Site Manager / Project Manager
Qualifications & Experience Required
Essential certifications: SMSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid at Work
Desired certifications: UKATA Asbestos Awareness, Scaffold Inspection, Temporary Works Supervisor, Fire Marshal, Demolition Supervisor
Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience within the construction industry in a site-based role
- IT competent, with experience using Microsoft packages, BIM 360, and Asite
- Proven experience liaising with architects, engineers, clients, and subcontractors
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels
- High level of health and safety awareness
- Full UK driving licence
