Estimator – Groundworks

Location: Edinburgh

The Role

As a Groundworks Estimator, you’ll be responsible for managing the tendering process from start to finish, including:

  • Preparing and submitting competitive tenders for groundworks and civil engineering projects
  • Reviewing site investigation reports and assessing temporary works requirements
  • Performing accurate take-offs and cost breakdowns
  • Liaising with clients to clarify project scope and technical details
  • Working closely with construction and project teams to ensure smooth handover and project success

This is a hands-on role where your input will directly impact commercial success and project delivery.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings one of the following:

  • 3+ years’ estimating experience, OR
  • 5+ years’ site-based experience (as a Site Engineer or Site Manager in civils/groundworks)

You’ll also have:

  • A strong grasp of construction methods and the ability to interpret drawings and specs
  • Solid communication and organisation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating software and AutoCAD is a bonus
  • A safety-first mindset and proactive approach to challenges
