A well-established groundworks contractor based in the Central Belt of Scotland is looking to recruit an experienced Setting Out Engineer to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of projects across the region. The company delivers a range of groundworks and infrastructure packages for residential and commercial developments and has a steady workload across multiple live sites.

As a Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting site teams and ensuring accurate setting out across groundworks and infrastructure packages. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Setting out for foundations, drainage, roads, and external works
  • Interpreting and working from technical drawings and site plans
  • Carrying out as-built surveys and QA checks
  • Working closely with site managers and subcontractors
  • Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
  • Ensuring work is delivered in line with design specifications and programme

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer within groundworks or civil engineering
  • Experience setting out drainage, foundations, and roads
  • Proficient with setting out equipment such as Leica, Trimble, or Topcon
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
