The Role
The consultancy is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team in a fully remote capacity. This role offers the opportunity to work from anywhere in Scotland, while contributing to the delivery of electrical building services designs across a diverse and technically interesting project portfolio. You will support the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical building services designs, calculations, and specifications
- Design systems including power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems
- Support coordination with other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
- Ensure compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations, and CDM requirements
- Participate in virtual design team meetings and occasional site visits where required
- Support projects from concept through to construction and commissioning
About You
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in electrical building services design
- Working knowledge of UK standards and regulations
- Experience using tools such as Trimble/Amtech, Dialux, ETAP, or similar
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a remote team
- Interest in sustainable, low-energy building design
- Working towards professional accreditation (e.g. CIBSE, IET) is desirable
