About the Role
Peace Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Sub Agent to join a major heavy civils and infrastructure project across Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on large-scale civil engineering projects, supporting the Site Agent and playing a crucial role in delivering complex works safely, on time, and within budget. This role is ideal for an experienced Section Engineer or Sub Agent looking to take the next step in their career within infrastructure, roads, drainage, and utilities projects. You must be flexible and willing to work across multiple project sites throughout Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Agent in the day-to-day management of site operations
- Supervise engineers, subcontractors, and on-site teams
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality standards
- Assist with planning, coordination, and monitoring of site activities
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Review and implement RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- Track project progress and report on performance
- Assist in resolving technical and operational challenges
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer within heavy civils or infrastructure projects
- Strong background in roads, drainage, structures, or utilities
- Solid understanding of construction processes and site management
- CSCS Card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload across multiple site operations
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Temporary Works
- First Aid qualification
