We're currently working with a well-established and growing building services contractor that delivers integrated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building fabric solutions across Scotland. Due to continued growth and a strong forward order book, they are now looking to appoint a Buyer / Senior Buyer to strengthen their procurement function.

The business has been operating for over 15 years, growing organically from its electrical contracting roots into a full turnkey MEP and building fabric provider. They work across a broad range of sectors including:

The Role
As a Buyer / Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting procurement across the business, ensuring materials, plant, subcontract packages and services are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with programme requirements. This is a commercially important position with real scope to influence procurement strategy and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement cycle for materials, subcontract packages and services
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure performance, reliability and value
- Prepare and place purchase orders and track delivery schedules to meet site and programme needs
- Negotiate competitive rates and commercial terms
- Work closely with site teams, commercial teams and finance to align procurement with project requirements
- Support supplier evaluation, onboarding and performance monitoring
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and best practice
About You
Previous experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer role, ideally within construction, MEP or building services. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Commercially aware with a focus on cost control and delivery certainty. Comfortable working with ERP systems and procurement platforms. Collaborative mindset with the ability to support a growing business.
