I’m currently supporting one of Scotland’s leading Tier 1 contractors in the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, based in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation, a secure forward order book, and a varied portfolio of high-profile projects across Scotland.
The Project Portfolio
- 45m major refurbishment & fit-out project (Edinburgh city centre)
- 20m warehousing / industrial development
- 65m new-build education facility
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with site teams, commercial managers and key stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:
- Full commercial management of live projects
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Valuations, CVRs, forecasting and reporting
- Managing variations and change control
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Working collaboratively with project and delivery teams to protect commercial outcomes
About You
- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Experience delivering large-scale new build, refurbishment or fit-out projects
- Strong understanding of commercial processes, cost control and subcontract management
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
