I am delighted to share an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Chartered Surveyor to join a growing Renewable Energy team within a leading advisory firm. This role offers the opportunity to work directly alongside the Partner leading the Energy division, acting as a trusted adviser across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy and infrastructure projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering high-quality professional advice across rural and commercial property environments. We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware, and technically strong — a surveyor who can build credibility with clients and stakeholders while providing sound professional expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to develop their career within a growing sector, with exposure to a broad range of projects including wind, solar, battery storage, grid infrastructure, and emerging renewable technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Partner for Energy in the delivery and growth of renewable energy projects and client relationships
  • Acting as a key point of contact for landowners, developers, utility companies, and professional stakeholders
  • Negotiating option agreements, leases, servitudes, access agreements, and associated property matters
  • Providing strategic advice on rural and commercial property issues linked to renewable energy developments
  • Assisting with project management and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
  • Undertaking valuations, compensation negotiations, and professional consultancy work where required
  • Preparing reports, client advice, and presentations to a high professional standard
  • Supporting business development initiatives and identifying new opportunities within the sector
  • Maintaining strong market awareness across renewable energy and infrastructure markets

About You

  • MRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor
  • Experience within rural, commercial, energy, or infrastructure property sectors
  • Strong understanding of landlord and tenant matters, property negotiations, and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Commercially aware, organised, and solutions-focused
  • Able to work independently while supporting senior leadership on complex projects
  • Genuine interest in renewable energy and the evolving rural and commercial property landscape
  • Driven, adaptable, and keen to build a long-term career within the sector

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on renewable energy or utility infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of Scottish rural and commercial property markets
  • Understanding of compensation, wayleaves, compulsory purchase, or development work
  • Registered Valuer qualification
  • Existing network within the energy, land, or development sectors

If you are an experienced Chartered Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career and play a key role in the continued growth of a renewable energy advisory team, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this position with you.
