I am delighted to share an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Chartered Surveyor to join a growing Renewable Energy team within a leading advisory firm. This role offers the opportunity to work directly alongside the Partner leading the Energy division, acting as a trusted adviser across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy and infrastructure projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering high-quality professional advice across rural and commercial property environments. We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware, and technically strong — a surveyor who can build credibility with clients and stakeholders while providing sound professional expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to develop their career within a growing sector, with exposure to a broad range of projects including wind, solar, battery storage, grid infrastructure, and emerging renewable technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Partner for Energy in the delivery and growth of renewable energy projects and client relationships
- Acting as a key point of contact for landowners, developers, utility companies, and professional stakeholders
- Negotiating option agreements, leases, servitudes, access agreements, and associated property matters
- Providing strategic advice on rural and commercial property issues linked to renewable energy developments
- Assisting with project management and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Undertaking valuations, compensation negotiations, and professional consultancy work where required
- Preparing reports, client advice, and presentations to a high professional standard
- Supporting business development initiatives and identifying new opportunities within the sector
- Maintaining strong market awareness across renewable energy and infrastructure markets
About You
- MRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor
- Experience within rural, commercial, energy, or infrastructure property sectors
- Strong understanding of landlord and tenant matters, property negotiations, and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
- Commercially aware, organised, and solutions-focused
- Able to work independently while supporting senior leadership on complex projects
- Genuine interest in renewable energy and the evolving rural and commercial property landscape
- Driven, adaptable, and keen to build a long-term career within the sector
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on renewable energy or utility infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Scottish rural and commercial property markets
- Understanding of compensation, wayleaves, compulsory purchase, or development work
- Registered Valuer qualification
- Existing network within the energy, land, or development sectors
