We are working with a well-established and highly respected Building Services Contractor who are looking to appoint an M&E Quantity Surveyor to their team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with a strong pipeline of work across Scotland and the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of Major Industrial Units (Big Sheds), Substations, Petrochemical Facilities, and CAT A Fit-Outs, working closely with internal delivery teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and contractual aspects of M&E packages across multiple projects
- Prepare and review bills of quantities, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and commercial risk management
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultant teams throughout project lifecycle
- Ensure cost controls are implemented effectively and commercial processes are followed
- Support tendering, procurement, and bid pricing activity when required
About You
- Experience working as an M&E QS, ideally within a building services, construction, or specialist subcontractor setting
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical contracting commercial processes
- Confident communicator who is comfortable working with clients, site teams, and stakeholders
- Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT)
- Strong analytical skills and an organised, methodical approach to financial controls and reporting
