With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth in Edinburgh, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in their commercial team. The Role

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects while leading and developing a team of surveyors. You will work closely with senior management and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and within budget—while maximising profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and senior stakeholders to drive strong commercial outcomes
  • Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting across projects
  • Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and appointment processes
  • Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of works on site
  • Take ownership of monthly valuations, commercial reporting, and cash flow management
  • Identify, manage, and negotiate variations and final accounts
  • Monitor project performance, proactively managing risk and protecting profit margins
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and oversee subcontractor payments
  • Promote best practice in health & safety, risk management, and governance
