We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team in Edinburgh. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and public sector projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical designs for a range of building types, including power, lighting, fire alarms, and low-voltage systems.
- Produce detailed design documentation, schematics, and specifications to support project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure fully coordinated building services designs.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning to ensure designs are implemented effectively.
- Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient electrical design solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in building services electrical design.
- Strong knowledge of UK electrical design standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar design software.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with energy-efficient or sustainable electrical design is advantageous.
