Peace is working with a well-respected construction consultancy looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to support a growing workload across the Transmission and Distribution Sector.

A Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing complex contractual arrangements and work packages of varying size and strategic importance. Portfolios may span multiple smaller contracts or single high-value, highly complex agreements. They lead on meeting all commercial and contractual obligations, ensuring effective governance across the full contract lifecycle. The role requires a flexible working approach, with an expectation to be onsite or at a client office three days per week to support project teams and maintain strong stakeholder engagement.

Key Accountabilities

As a Contract Manager, you have a passion to provide services as required by our clients, which may include:

  • To negotiate contract T&C’s for projects of significant value (from 20M to 500M) and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase. This will include management of commercial staff.
  • To negotiate contract prices and ensure all contract prices can be substantiated and provide value for money to consumers.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management skills are essential, as is the ability to influence, lead and resolve disputes together with problem solving.
  • Cost and forecast management via regular cost reporting and ensuring change management procedures are adhered to, Payment and expenditure management, Cost estimating.
  • Provide robust post contract commercial management which will support the project goals and objectives including negotiating/agreeing compensation events and ensuring that the core principles of the Commercial Manual are being implemented.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.
  • Support the Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world class procurement and commercial service.

Qualifications

  • Significant, demonstrable experience in contract management, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Law, or an equivalent discipline.
  • MCIPS qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Strong experience in contract change management and claims management.
  • Proven ability to draft and interpret commercial contracts, with knowledge of standard construction forms and bespoke agreements.
  • Experience working with NEC and FIDIC contracts.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis and reporting for project budgets.
  • Knowledge of commercial governance processes for large capital projects, including contract, commercial, or cost-related delivery experience.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary: Up to 80,000 DOE
